Job Description:
SugarBird Wines is now looking for an Assistant Events Manager to join our dynamic team with a focus on our In-house events as well as our Corporate and Private Events. The Assistant Events Manager will also be a support to our General Manager on a daily basis and be a part of the SugarBird Wines experience. As a key member of our team, your role will include:
Events:
- Collaborate: working closely with the Events Manager, General Manager and Owners you will be an effective and accurate communicator, delivering to deadlines, offering solutions and making key decisions
- Delivery of onsite events: An organised individual with an intuitive nature, the key candidate will pre-empt what’s happening during service, effectively direct the team and have the keenest eye for detail. Ensuring our guests have an amazing time if they’re joining us for an in house wine tasting or being welcomed by a corporate client hosting an event.
- Deliver An Hospitality Experience: Welcome and assist customers professionally and with a smile, offering your expertise to make their visit special. Following the event function sheet and delivering to the agreed arrangements in a slick and professional manner and ensuring the client and their guests receive the experience planned and exceeding their expectations in delivery
- Drive standards: Our candidate will be a great coach and push our teams to excel, delivering on procedural standards and identifying training opportunities and areas for improvement across the business.
Day to Day Operations:
· Assisting in the daily operational business of effective team management, property management, customer relations and licence adherence.
· Assisting and supporting the General Manager in operational delivery whilst running shifts and ensuring the bar and teams succeed in their service delivery consistently:
- Order taking: Efficiently and accurately process customer orders, ensuring their preferences are met to perfection.
- Sales Opportunities: The bar team effectively sell products to each customer, identifying sales opportunities at every stage
- Prepare Cold Food: Participate in the preparation of delectable dishes that complement our wine offerings, ensuring quality, presentation, consistency, timely and hygienic service
- Handle Card Transactions: Handle transactions with precision, maintaining a secure and organized approach.
- Health & Hygiene: Maintain a high standard of cleanliness, adhering to health and hygiene protocols to create a safe and inviting environment for our patrons.
- Licensing Laws: Uphold a strict adherence to licensing laws and regulations at all times, ensuring the responsible and legal service of alcohol.
Qualifications:
We're looking for individuals who possess the following qualities:
- Minimum 2 years at Supervisor level in Bar, restaurant, hotel or events background
- 100% Customer-focused and welcoming demeanour
- A passion for hospitality, understanding the business behind it and KPIs driving it
- Strong attention to detail and precision experience delivery
- Demonstrable understanding of health and hygiene standards delivery.
- Understanding of licensing laws and responsible alcohol service
